Icy Waters Ltd. is a 25 + year old Canadian aquaculture company dedicated to the development, growth, processing, and sale of premium Arctic Charr and “Yukon Gold” Arctic Charr ova.

We are seeking experienced applicants to fill (1) one full-time permanent position, 40 hours per week, as a Fish Processing Plant Worker.

Highlighted Responsibilities:

  • Harvest fish for processing
  • Set up, operate and adjust fish processing machinery
  • Record production information such as quantity, weight, date, and type of product
  • Carefully hand cut, clean, trim fish with a knife and pin bonefish with pliers
  • Sort, weigh, grade and package fish to fill customer orders
  • Review orders and ensure they are filled correctly
  • Follow all company and regulatory guidelines including safety, food-safe, QMP
  • Clean processing area and machinery
  • Participate in after-hours alarm rotation
  • Reliability to report to work as scheduled including weekdays, weekends, night rounds, irregular hours

The qualities and skills preferred include:

  • Six (6) months or more experience with processing and production of arctic charr
  • Ability and aptitude to operate, maintain and clean processing equipment
  • Six (6) months or more experience in a certified fish processing plant
  • Aquaculture diploma with cold-water fish is an asset
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under time constraints
  • Physically fit to stand, lift and carry 50 lbs, net; to do repetitive work in a cold, wet environment, indoors/outdoors
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, effective communication, good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, accurate record-keeping
  • Valid and Current Canadian Driver’s license
  • Proof of ability to work in Canada
