Lead Merger & Acquisition Analyst – Fast track to Manager

This position is responsible for evaluating the company’s opportunities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

This position will support the M&A process with a focus on delivering value to the company through targeted financial due diligence, working with and assisting in integration strategies, and supporting post-close integration management, financial realization, and deal evaluation.

Job Description

 The M&A professional gathers important information regarding risks and opportunities for pending and ongoing M&A activities, translating this information into fact-based and well-reasoned insights on valuation and the financial impact of a merger or acquisition.

Essential Functions:

•Supports the overall M&A process by serving on ad hoc teams (pre- and post-close) to ensure financial and process synergies are adopted and the benefit is realized.

• Develops dynamic financial models that are highly flexible to be used to value potential acquisition targets

•Performs key analysis such as return on investment, accretion/dilution to overall company, industry, and market comparables, and discounted cash flow.

•Performs post closing analysis on the key assumptions used in the initial analysis along with the performance of the acquisition by documenting and modeling the achieved synergies.

• Coordinates resources both in and out of the company based on workload to achieve project deadlines.

• Coordinates research and analysis activities required to assess the strategic impact and risk for the company of potential acquisition opportunities.

•Maintains knowledge of M&A activity in the marketplace keeping up with industry best practices.

•Collaborates with key stakeholders including the company’s investment committee and senior leadership

Qualifications

•In-depth operational and financial modeling knowledge

•Bachelor’s degree ; MBA a plus

•Minimum five years of applicable experience

•Mergers and acquisition experience required

•Knowledge of contracts, purchase agreements, letters of intent, and other documents commonly associated to an acquisition

•Exceptional business acumen and communication skills, both in written and verbal form

• Advanced report writing, research, and analytical skills

•Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
